At Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Water Out of the Rock Assembly, Gainsborough, we are committed to creating a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for everyone who worships, serves, visits, or participates in our church activities.
We believe that every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, love, and protection. Safeguarding is therefore an important part of our Christian duty and our responsibility as a church and charity.
We are committed to:
promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk;
providing a safe environment for worship, fellowship, teaching, and community activities;
ensuring that safeguarding concerns are listened to, taken seriously, and responded to appropriately;
encouraging safe working practices among church leaders, workers, and volunteers;
treating all people with dignity, respect, compassion, and care;
working with relevant safeguarding agencies where necessary.
We recognise our responsibility to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
This includes those who may be vulnerable because of age, disability, illness, personal circumstances, isolation, domestic abuse, mental health challenges, or any other situation that may place them at risk.
Where appropriate, those who work with children, young people, or adults at risk may be required to complete suitable safeguarding checks, including references and DBS checks where relevant.
We expect all church workers and volunteers to act responsibly, maintain appropriate boundaries, and follow the church’s safeguarding guidance.
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person, or adult at risk, please speak to the church safeguarding lead as soon as possible.
